David Barcus

BARCUS, David R. "Dave" age 53 of Dayton, passed away Sunday, December 28, 2008. Dave was a 1974 graduate of Beavercreek High School, a life long sports enthusiast, and Cleveland Browns fan. In addition to following the Browns, his interests included golfing, fishing, boating, and water skiing; he once skied 15 miles on the Ohio River. He was a member of the Miami Valley Traffic Club; Loyal Order of the Moose, and Fraternal Order of Eagles. He was employed as Transportation Manager at Dayton Bag and Burlap for 20 years this coming March. Prior to that he worked at Imperial Eastman of Dayton, OH. He was preceded in death by his sister, Linda Anderson. He is survived by his beloved wife of 32 years, Christine Barcus (Sortman); precious daughters, Gayle Barcus and Gabrielle Barcus; parents, Charles and Nancy Barcus of Indian Lake, OH and Florida; loving siblings, Kathy Kowalski and her husband Jerry of Dayton, Dale Barcus of Cleveland, Anne Route and her husband Randy of Bellefontaine; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and other beloved extended family and friends. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd. Funeral services will be 10 AM Wednesday, December 31, 2008 at the funeral home.
