David Bailey "Dave", 83, of Miami Twp. passed away Friday, January 24, 2020.
He was born January 1, 1937 in Rising Sun, Indiana to the late Jess and Matilda (Snyder) Bailey. He retired from Bethlehem Steel after many years of service and then went on to work at Furrow's and Lowes for a number of years. In his free time Dave enjoyed traveling with his beloved Sharon and also spending time outdoors gardening and working on projects with her. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Rising Sun, IN for many years.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter, Deanna Bailey Kopecky and his son, John D. "JD" Bailey.
Dave is survived by his beloved companion and soulmate of 38 years, Sharon Rife; children, Amy Vaughn, Tiffany Kiser, Ben Rife; grandchildren, C.J., Corey, Jennifer, Chris, Emily, Megan, Brandon, Natalie, Gaige; great-grandchildren, Maddox, Marley, Jordan, April, Zander, Alissa, and Skylah, along with a very special neighbor and good friend, Al Slaughter.
Dave was the most wonderful, sweetest, funniest, kindest man that ever walked this earth. He was loved by all and will be deeply missed.
The family would like to thank all of the kind nursing staff at Kettering Cancer Center for the care they gave to Dave.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 31, 2020 from 4:00 pm until time of service at 6:00 pm at Newcomer Kettering Chapel, 3940 Kettering Blvd.
