David A. Whitehead, age 51, of Centerville passed away after a long battle with cancer, Friday, April 29, 2011, surrounded by his family at home.
David was the Vice President/General Manager at Jena Tool Corp., where he worked for the past 23 years.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Saundra J. Whitehead; brother-in-law, John Derr; and sister-in-law, Katie Derr.
David is survived by his loving & caring wife of 32 years, Carol Whitehead; children, Brian Whitehead; Samantha (Buddy) Bauman, and Danielle Whitehead; grandchildren, Kenzie & Landen Bauman, and Emma Isaac; father, Gerald Whitehead; step-mother, Sandra Whitehead; father-in-law, George Derr; mother-in-law, Geraldine Derr; sibilings, Dana (Karen) Whitehead, Liz Kolb, Rachelle (Jay) O'Donnell, and Robin Whitehead; brother-in-law, Thomas Derr; sister-in-law, Connie (Mike) Tanner; good friend, Jim (Elizabeth) Lowry numerous aunts; uncles; cousins; nieces; nephews and many other good friends.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 P.M. Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at Newcomer Funeral Home South Chapel (3940 Kettering Blvd, Kettering, OH 45439). The service will be held Thursday, May 5, 2011 at 10 A.M. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at David's Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Hospice of Dayton in David's memory.
