Dave Kenneth Pleasant Sr.

David Kenneth Pleasant Sr., age 83, of Dayton, passed away on Monday, December 25, 2023. He was born in Greenfield, OH on December 25, 1940 to the late Kenneth & Leona Pleasant. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Eileen Pleasant; brother, Chuck Gilmore; and sisters, Delores Jones and Virginia Moses.

Dave is survived by his children, David K. Pleasant, Jr., Deb Pleasant and Shawn (Tammey) Pleasant; grandchildren, Abiona (Chris Teague) Pleasant, Shawn Pleasant, Jr., Candice Pleasant and Kenneth Pleasant; great-grandson, Vincent Teague; and many other relatives and friends.

Dave was a graduate of Vandalia-Butler class of 1958. Working as a tool and die maker, Dave then later started Quality Machine Company in the early 1980's. Dave enjoyed working with his family and had a profound love for his family and friends. As an avid motorcycle and hot rod enthusiast from early on, Dave was known in the local hot rod community as a source of knowledge, skill, coolness, and genuine spirit. Dave was very fortunate to have so many friends in that community and beyond.
