Daryl A. Moore

Daryl A. Moore, age 78 of Dayton, passed away Sunday, March 2, 2025. He was born January 5, 1947 in Dayton, Ohio, the son of the late Robert and Lorrain Moore.

Daryl proudly served his country in the United States Army with the 25th Infantry Division in the Vietnam War. He earned two Army Commendation Medals, the Army National Defense Medal, the Vietnam Service Ribbon, the Republic of Vietnam Service Ribbon and most proudly a Purple Heart. Daryl was a loving Papaw who enjoyed coaching them as well as being a kid himself with his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Katonda Moore; sister, Sherry Storms and daughter-in-law, Kim Moore.

Daryl is survived by his children, Danny Moore and Bobbie (David) Steele; grandchildren, David (Logan) Steele Jr., Amber Moore and Matthew (Jessica) Steele; 1 great grandson, David Steele III; twin sister, Carol Moore; sister, Linda (Mike) Bartee; brother-in-law, Greg Glascoe; and many special nieces and nephews along with other family members and friends. 

Visitation will be Friday, March 7, 2025 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am with a service to follow at Newcomer Funeral Home (3380 Dayton-Xenia Road, Beavercreek, Ohio 45432). Daryl will be laid to rest at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery following the service.
