Sandlin, Darlene, age 43, of Dayton, went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, October 18, 2007 at Good Samaritan Hospital after a courageous battle with breast cancer. She was born May 24, 1964 in Troy, OH, the daughter of Nathanel & Jennie M. (Chumley) Stewart. She was a faithful member of Cornerstone Church of God in Springfield, OH where she taught Sunday school up until the time of her passing. Darlene was employed by City Title Agency in Springfield, OH. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, James R. Chumley and Archie & Ethel Stewart. Survivors include her parents; husband, David K. Sandlin; children, Brandon D. Sandlin & Andrea G. Sandlin both of Dayton; brother, Gary D. (Christine) Stewart of Dayton & Mark N. Stewart of Cumberland Gap, TN; niece, Heather Stewart; nephew, Jason Stewart; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Monday, October 22, 2007 at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton, OH, with Rev. Edward R. Ralston & Rev. John F. Rice officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Gardens, Tipp City. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-6 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to help with funeral expenses. The family would like to send a special thank you to the Samaritan North Cancer Center doctors, nurses and staff for their loving care during her illness.
