Darlene S. Martin

Our beloved mother, Darlene Sue Martin, passed away unexpectedly on July 28, 2024, on her 86th birthday. She was born to Cloyce and Sue Russell on July 28, 1938. She was the second child of eight siblings (Barbara, Doug, Jim, Teddy, Tom, Sandy, and Vicki). 

She is survived by sons, Michael and Scott (Jennifer) and daughter, Lora Schmid (Martin). She was a loving grandmother to Mike (Renae), Joe (Sara), Elizabeth, Alison (Josiah), Madeline (Trent) and Samuel (Kalie); great-grandmother to Elijah, Adalay, Cora, Aria, Scarlett, Penelope, Tilly, Jax, and Esther. 

Darlene was a devoted employee of Miami Valley Hospital for 35 years. She enjoyed watching her TV shows, especially game shows. Over the years, she pursued many hobbies including sewing, jewelry making, pottery, scrapbooking, card making, and coloring. Darlene showed her love with her generosity to her family and friends. 

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 3, 2024 at Newcomer Kettering, 3940 Kettering Blvd. Service will begin at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Pastor Steve Granata to officiate.
