Darlene Marie Baumgardner, 58, of Kettering, passed away on December 5, 2017.
She was born on October 6, 1959 to James and Nancy (Stewart) Cook in Joliet, IL.
Darlene dedicated her life to helping others and working as a nurse in the Dayton area, more recently as a nurse case manager for CareSource.
Darlene is survived by her loving daughter, Amy Minix (Jack Silverberg); mother, Nancy Melton; brother, Sheldon Cook; and sisters, Debra Spence, Donna Lanham and Dawn Willson; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, James Ova Cook, and sister Dianne Lynne Cook.
Visitation will be held Saturday, December 9, 2017, 4:00 pm with Services following at 5:30 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Kettering, Ohio.
Darlene was an animal lover and believed strongly in animal rescue. Donations may be made in her name to the Humane Society of Greater Dayton (1661 Nicholas Rd. Dayton, OH 45417).
