Danny Coovert, age 80, of Dayton, passed away December 15, 2021.
He was born June 8, 1941 and grew up in the Westwood area of Dayton. Danny was a 4th degree Black Belt and a Sensei of his own Karate club in Eaton, Ohio. In 1962 he met the love of his life, Glenda Eagle and they married in 1964. In 1967 Danny and Glenda had their daughter, Kelly and their son Tim came along in 1974. Danny served 30 years dedicated to the Dayton Public School District. He was a very proud member of the AFS-CME Local 101 and served as Parliamentarian.
Danny is survived by his wife of 57 years, Glenda; daughter, Kelly (Robert) Yeaney; son, Tim (Heather) Coovert; grandchildren, Morgan, Bryce, Jordan, and Sofia; his special friends, Jim Sipes and Guy Ward, along with many other friends.
He will always be remembered for his love of his grandchildren, family and friends. Papaw was the family guru, there was nothing he couldn't fix. He was known for sharing his strong opinions and for being ornery.
No one will fill his office chair at the end of the dining table.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at Newcomer Kettering Chapel, 3940 Kettering Blvd. from 5:00 pm until time of service at 7:00 pm. A special thanks for Marty Thomas for officiating the service.
