Danny Keith Cassidy, born on January 25, 1954, in Dayton, Ohio, passed away in the same city on November 29, 2024. He was a beloved family member and friend, known for his warmth, intelligence, and vibrant conversational skills.
Danny dedicated many years of his career as a master welder in the Dayton area, earning the respect of his peers and contributing diligently to the community. His remarkable skills extended beyond his profession; he was also a master of trivial pursuit, bringing joy and knowledge to every gathering.
Family was at the heart of Danny’s life. He cherished his time spent with loved ones, particularly enjoying fishing trips with his brothers and hosting family gatherings at his home, where memories were made around the pool. His adventurous spirit led him to enjoy hunting, fishing, and sledding with family members. Danny had a special fondness for amusement parks, particularly Cedar Point, creating lasting memories with those he loved.
Danny's caring nature shone through in his relationships with his family. He was a devoted father to his son, Daniel Cassidy, and held dear bonds with his nephew and nieces: Ericka, Amy, Ryan, Sean, and Beth. He is also survived by many other relatives, including his aunt Geraldine Cassidy; his siblings, Shirley McKnight, Michael Cassidy, Jim Cassidy and his wife Vicki, and Jeff Cassidy; his mother-in-law, Mary VanDam; and sisters-in-law, Sharon Hall and her husband David, Connie Oroszi and her husband Dennis, and Kathy Pennington. Additionally, he enjoyed the company of his brothers-in-law, Perry Howard and his wife Cathy, and was cherished by countless nieces and nephews, including Ericka Baker and her husband Chris, Amy Winkelman and her husband Chris, Eric Cassidy, Mark Howard and his wife Alison, Stacie Souza and her husband Chad, Ashley Pennington and her husband Steve, Justin Kyne and his husband Ryan Foster, Beth Russo and her husband Chris, Maria Pennington, Ryan Cassidy and Amy Smith, Sean Stinnett and his wife Molly, and Debbie Eller, among a host of great nieces and nephews.
Danny was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Debbie Cassidy, who was his greatest joy and pride in life, along with his father, Ray Cassidy, and mother, Josephine Cassidy, as well as his father-in-law, Goal Howard.
A visitation will be held on December 28, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home in Kettering, Ohio, followed by a memorial service starting at 3:00 PM. The family invites all who knew and loved Danny to join them in celebrating his life and the profound impact he made on those around him.
