Daniel R. Zinkiewicz "Dan" "Zink", age 73 of Huber Heights, passed away November 6, 2016. He was born in Dayton on February 26, 1943 to the late Eugene "Gene" and Anastasia "Nettie" Zinkiewicz. In addition to his parents, Dan was preceded in death by his brother, John Zinkiewicz.
He is survived by his loving wife, Janet Zinkiewicz; children, Sherri (Danny) Salters, Stacey (Chuck) Monnin, Samantha (Shawn) Hilliard and Daniel (Michelle) Zinkiewicz Jr.; grandchildren, Rachel (Eli) Wilburn, Christopher (Katie) Turpin, Ashley (Josh) Brewer, Lacy Stamper, Nicholas Monnin-Allen, Wessley and Pierce Monnin, Tyler and Zachary Hilliard, Noah and Maya Zinkiewicz; great grandchildren, Riley, Eli "Lil E" and Ava; siblings, Barbara Lurz, Eugene and Frank Zinkiewicz; numerous extended nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.
Dan served during Vietnam in the U.S. Navy from 1961-66 on the U.S.S Atka. He enjoyed coaching his children in all sports. Dan loved to cheer on his grandkids and was their biggest fan. His greatest accomplishment was watching his children grow into what they are today. Dan was an avid fisherman and golfer when he wasn't rooting on his family.
Family will receive friends from 2-5 PM on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home, North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd. where a funeral service will begin at 5 PM. Burial of Dan's urn will be held at a later date.
