Daniel Leo Lehmkuhle, age 67 of Dayton, passed away on Monday, July 26, 2021 at Hospice of Dayton. Dan was born April 17, 1954 in Dayton, Ohio. He is the son of the late James A. Lehmkuhle, and survived by his mother, Dorothy C. Lehmkuhle.
Dan is also survived by his two sons, Eric and Kevin, his brothers, Stephen (Cynthia) and Gerald (Jane), his sister, Susan, and numerous other family members and friends.
Dan embraced his role as a father. He cherished his time with his sons: playing together; working together; attending sporting events; and growing together as a family during their childhood and now as young adults. His sons commented that Dan's greatest trait was being a loving father.
Dan was similarly dedicated to his business, Lehmkuhle's Home Improvement. It was a staple in the Dayton community for decades. Dan was committed to customer satisfaction and always took great pride in his high standards and quality work.
Dan enhanced people's lives not only with his home improvements, but also with his funny wit and easy-going demeanor. No problem or life challenge seemed to alter his positive outlook. Even during his last days battling many health challenges, he continued to bring smiles to the faces of those around him.
Quote from Eric: Thanks for everything u taught me and making me the man I am today gonna miss yah dad I love yah rest easy I know you're looking down watching me make you proud
Quote from Kevin: Dad was a hard worker, and worked until the day he died. He was a great father and a great influence. He made our childhood the best childhood he possibly could have and no amount of money kept him from providing us with that. He's the reason I am the person I am today. His greatest trait was being a father. But he also had the strongest work ethic I had ever seen. He never left a customer unsatisfied with his work. Lehmkuhle's Home Improvement, was in my eyes, a staple of Dayton. He touched so many people's life's. He would light up a room with his goofy personality. Dad was a great man and will be truly missed.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on August 3, 2021 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church located at 2300 Smithville Rd., Dayton, Ohio 45420. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
