WEINLAND, Daniel Lee, Sr., of Dayton, passed away on Sunday, May 2, 2010 at the age of 75. He set sail for that "Big Fishing Lake in the Sky." Dan was born on June 21, 1934 in Mishawaka, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roger and Muryl Weinland and a great Grandson, Brian L. King, Jr. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Barbara; sons, David L., Daniel L. Jr. (Beth), Craig A. (Becky) and daughter, Lori L. Scothorn, 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; sisters, Judith Dallas and Gayle (Kelly) Adams. Dan was a graduate of Fairview High School Class of '52'. He worked 48 years in the produce industry in Dayton with Liberal Markets, in Xenia with Super Value, in El Paso, TX with Tri-State and Indiana with Roundy's, advancing from produce clerk to director of produce procurement. An avid fisherman, collector of all kinds of things, at one time having as many as 49 collections and an antique mall booth operator. He was active in Eagles and I.A.J.B.B.S.C. He was the much loved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend who will be forever missed by every one whose life he touched along his life's journey. We, his family, wish to thank Vita's and everyone who helped make his life a little easier in the final stages of his time on earth. Burial will follow in Valley View Memorial Gardens.
