Hetzel, Daniel F., age 69, of Huber Heights passed away on Monday, November 26, 2007 at Hospice of Dayton. He was born April 29, 1938 in Dayton, the son of Orval & Hazel Mae (Pitzer) Hetzel. Daniel was a graduate of Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC. He was a teacher for 30 years and retired from Esther Dennis Middle School in Northridge. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Dayton where he served as a deacon, music director, choir director, Sunday School teacher and Youth Director. He was an avid model train hobbyist. He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Stephen Mark Hetzel; grandson, Landon James Hetzel; and his sister, Hila Mae Hetzel. Survivors include his wife, Gloria Hetzel; son, Brian Hetzel of Huber Heights; daughter, Gabrielle (Hetzel) Jenkins of Huber Heights; grandchildren, Noah & Jonah Jenkins and Emmy & Braden Hetzel; sister, Dorothy (Hetzel) Jones of Vandalia; numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins. The family would like to thank Daniel's special friends, church friends, and train friends for their special support. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Friday, November 30, 2007 at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 1501 E. Third St., Dayton, OH, with Pastor Richard Springer officiating. Burial will follow at Poplar Hill Cemetery, Vandalia. The family will be receiving friends from 5-8 PM on Thursday at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, OH.
