Daniel E. Johnson

Johnson, Daniel E., age 74, of Kettering, passed away on Sunday, November 22, 2009. Dan was a United States Army Officer proudly serving in Korea from 1956-1958 and a long time member of Epiphany Lutheran Church in Centerville. Dan was an instructor at the School of Advertising Art (SAA) in Kettering and president of a leading design studio for more than 17 years. He was the recipient of an international CLIO and fifteen Hermes awards from the Greater Dayton Advertising Association. He was awarded the American Advertising Federation Silver Medal for lifetime achievement. He was also an avid tennis player. Dan is survived by his wife of over 53 years: Beverly; sons and daughters-in-law: Mark (Robin) of Shaker Heights, Ohio, Kent (Masako) of Los Angeles, California, Brook (Linda) of Worthington, Ohio; grandchildren: Courtney, Grant, Allie, Liam, Yuumi; brother: David L. Johnson of Westerville, Ohio; and numerous other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: Frank & Helen (Mitchell) Johnson. No funeral service will be held.
