Daniel Watters Drago Jr. passed away unexpectedly at home December 7, 2019 in Dayton, Ohio. He was 67 years old.
Dan was born on November 26, 1952 in Springfield, Missouri to his parents, Marge and Dan Drago Sr. He graduated from the University of Tulsa with a degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1974, and a Master's in Business Administration in 1975. He married Missy Drago on July 5, 1986. They spent the next 33 years raising their family and creating lasting memories, living in several locations across the United States. They were not running from the law, contrary to popular belief.
He retired in 2013, shifting his focus to volunteering with the Optimist Club, donating blood at the Community Blood Center, and, in general, living the retired life. He found joy in the successes of his family and encouraging them in their endeavors. His words of wisdom, gentle guidance, and enthusiasm will be missed.
Dan was a kind and loving man. He never spoke poorly of anyone, found the best in everyone, and would have done anything for someone in need. He was persistently working to improve the lives of those around him, and participated with organizations that implemented positive change for the next generation. He was determined to make the future brighter by providing hope and positivity to youth, his communities, and himself. He was part of groups such as Boy Scouts of America, Adventure Scouts, the Ronald McDonald House, Optimist Club, and he volunteered his time to speak as a special guest in middle schools and high schools, in addition to other outreach programs.
Dan is survived by his wife, Missy; his four children, John, Diana, Darcy, and Dan; his brothers, Bob, Tom and wife Tina; and his parents.
