Daniel J. Allen

Daniel J. Allen, affectionately known as Danny, passed away on November 28, 2024, in his beloved hometown of Dayton, where he was born on August 31, 1953. He is dearly remembered as a kind and happy soul with a touch of mischief, which brought joy to everyone around him.

Danny retired as a manager from Family Dollar, where his leadership and warm-hearted nature made a lasting impact on both employees and customers alike. His education at Chaminade High School laid the foundation for a life filled with learning and friendships that he cherished throughout his journey.

A man of many interests, Danny found joy in music, watching movies, embarking on cruises, and creating beautiful memories wherever he went. His passion for decorating the nativity scene every Christmas was a testament to his love for family traditions and the spirit of the season. His proudest accomplishments were not measured by accolades but rather in the laughter shared and the time spent with his cherished family.

He leaves behind a loving family, including his siblings Eileen Caupp, Cecile (TL) Lawson, Larry Allen, Thomas (Susan) Allen, and Virginia Smith (Terence Collins). He is also survived by his brother-in-law, John Clark, and was adored by a host nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will forever miss him.

Danny is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Rosella Allen, and his beloved sister, Marjorie Clark. He is also preceded his brother-in-law, George Caupp and sister-in-law, Bertie Mae whose memory will forever be entwined with Danny’s legacy of kindness.

Daniel J. Allen leaves a void that can never be filled, but his spirit will continue to shine through the countless memories shared by those who loved him. As we remember Danny, we celebrate a life well-lived, full of laughter, warmth, and undeniable love for those lucky enough to know him.

Funeral service will be officiated at 12:00 pm on Friday, December 6, 2024 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3940 Kettering Blvd. Kettering, OH 45439). Family will receive guests one hour prior to services. Danny will be laid to rest alongside his parents at Calvary Cemetery.
