Dale L. Wheeler

Dale L. Wheeler, age 81 of Dayton, passed away Tuesday, November 20, 2018. He was born March 3, 1937 in Dayton, Ohio the son of Rufus and Vina Wheeler.

Dale worked as a truck driver and retired from White Villa Grocery after 30 years. He was a member of the Landmark Baptist Church on Needmore Rd where he always brought candy for the kids and was known as the "Candy Man". He truly enjoyed fishing and he would fish every summer at his cabin at Lake Erie. During his younger years, he also enjoyed hunting. Dale was a loving husband and father and is dearly missed by his family.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by twelve sisters and one brother.

Dale will be missed by his loving wife of almost 63 years, Mary; son, Gerald G. Wheeler; daughter, Terri D. (Kenneth) Lotter; granddaughter, Erica (Brian) Perkins; great grandchildren, Bethaney Swink and Alex Fox; niece, Bonnie Owens along with many other nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends Thursday, November 29, 2018 from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1:30 p.m. at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton, Ohio. Burial to follow the service at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens.
