Dale A. Phelps, a beloved son, brother, uncle, friend and music enthusiast, passed away on July 11, 2024 in Dayton, Ohio. He was born on November 6, 1960, in Pikeville, Kentucky.
Dale had a deep passion for music which was evident in his life as he played in several bands and shared his talent as a guitarist with many. His love for the Cincinnati Reds was unwavering as he cheered them on through the highs and lows. In addition to music and sports, Dale also had a keen interest in history and found solace in nature and the great outdoors.
In the hearts those who knew him best, Dale will forever be remembered for his kind soul and friendship. He had a way of bringing people together with his music and warm presence.
Dale leaves behind cherished memories to be held by his surviving family members: Rich Phelps (brother), Marsha Engle (sister), Randy Phelps (brother), Melanie Blessing (niece), Melissa Schuster (niece), Kevin Phelps (nephew), Dan Phelps (nephew), Rance Phelps (nephew), Joshua Phelps (nephew), Jeremy Schuster (nephew), as well as four very special friends Lynn and Jimmy Cottrell, Ken "Hippie" Neuhauser, Glenda Tyler; along with numerous cousins and friends.
He is now reunited in peace with his mother Ruth Phelps, father William E. Phelps, brother William C. Phelps, nephew Jordan Schuster and his grandmother Mearl Castle who have gone before him.
Dale's legacy of love for music and unwavering spirit will continue to resonate in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. May he rest in eternal harmony.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton in Dale's memory.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
