Dale Leo Frederick

Dale Leo Frederick, age 81 of Kettering, passed away peacefully on October 29, 2015 at Brookhaven in Brookville, Ohio. Dale was born in Dayton on December 30, 1933 to the late Leo and Emma (Davis) Frederick.

Dale is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Joyce (Monroe); daughter Chris (Tom) Reilly; son Jon (Jessica) Frederick; three granddaughters, Colleen (Anthony) Wiseman, Elisabeth Reilly, Sylvia Frederick; great grandson Liam Wiseman; former spouse and friend, Faith Allen Walters of North Carolina. He is also survived by his in-laws, nieces, and nephews.

Dale graduated from Fairview High School in 1951. He served in the Army from 1955-1957 as a tank mechanic. Dale was an apprentice model maker at NCR for many years after serving in the Army. He also moonlighted at Dayton Home Furnishings during that time. Dale was a loyal employee at Fridgidaire, Harrison Radiator, Delco, and Mantyke until his retirement. He was very active with the Holiday at Home Organization in Kettering for decades which included being president in 1983 for the Silver Anniversary year. While living in Arcanum in the mid-eighties, he volunteered on the EMT squad.

Dale loved watching the Reds (pre Dusty Baker), the Bengals, Ohio State, NASCAR, and the Indianapolis 500 (which he never missed). He will be remembered for his great sense of humor, his hamburgers on the grill, his passion, love and dedication to his family, and his caring for any dog that was fortunate enough to share their life with him.

A visitation will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, Beavercreek Chapel, on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 from 9am-10am with a funeral service to follow at 10:00am. Burial at David's Cemetery.
