Dail Dobson, age 93, of Dayton, went home to be with the Lord on March 19, 2024. He was born December 21, 1930 in Hardburley, KY to the late Bill and Clara Dobson. In addition to his parents, Dail was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 65 years, Mary Dobson; and siblings: Leroy Dobson, Katherine Combs and Norvin Dobson.
Dail is survived by his children: Debra Adimey (Steve Hackett), Susie Dobson (Dwight Marshall), William "Butch" (Debra) Dobson and Donn Dobson (Cherie); grandchildren: C.J. Szekely (Jamie Ward), Celinda Riggs (Dan), Amanda Lytle, Rachel Lawson (Phil Young), Renee Marshall, Macey (Michael Galloway) and Lauren Dobson; great-grandchildren: Danielle, Nicholas, Kaleb, Emma, Brooke, McKayla, McKinsey, Novella and Adalee; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Dail was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, Korean War. He worked at L.M. Berry Yellow Pages and then as an Agent for State Farm Insurance before retiring after 28 years of service. Dail was an active Kiwanis and Gideon member for many years, enjoyed fishing in Canada, and was an avid UK Wildcats Basketball fan. He was a member of Woodland Hills Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at Newcomer Funeral Home, North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road, where the funeral service will begin at 1:00 pm. Entombment at Royal Oak Memorial Gardens, Brookville. Contributions may be made in Dail's memory to the Baptist Disaster Relief Team.
