Curtis Jay Engle, age 58, of Dayton, passed away September 17, 2021. Curtis was born in Celina, Ohio on April 8, 1963 to the late Benjamin Engle and Janice Severns.
Curtis was a jack-of-all-trades and succeeded in every endeavor he took on. He was a mechanic, a machinist, renovated homes, was a successful businessman and entrepreneur. He was a true outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was the life of the party who enjoyed spending time with his family, and he never missed an opportunity to spend time with his grandchildren. He never met a stranger, and he will be missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, Curtis was preceded in death by his step-mother, Betty Engle; brothers, Rich and Frank Engle; sister, Deanna McDermitt Slone; and granddaughter, Taylor.
He is survived by his children: Curtis Gifford, Audrey Murphy, Anthony Murphy, Ashley E. Bell, Adam Engle, and Aaron Engle; siblings: Sue, Todd, & Trent Engle, Craig, Mike, & John McDermitt; 23 grandchildren; the mothers of his children, Brenda Murphy and Cindy Gifford; and many other loving family and friends.
A visitation will be held from 2:00pm to 4:00pm on Sunday, September 26, 2021 at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, where the funeral service will begin at 4:00 pm. Burial will be on Monday, September 27, 2021 at Swamp College Cemetery, 6496 Karch Road, Celina, OH 45822.
