It is with a heavy heart that we write this obituary. Cordia Slone was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister. She is no longer suffering and has finished her race, receiving her prize in the arms of our Heavenly Father.
On September 19, 1936 Cordia Slone age 79, was born in Hall, Kentucky to the late Prentiable and Jane Hall. April 13, 1953, Cordia got to marry the love of her life, Charles Slone. Charles and Cordia were blessed with five children. On September 5, 1990, Cordia was baptized into Christ. Cordia dedicated her life to loving the Lord and her family.
On February 2, 2016, Cordia, passed away in Jamestown, Ohio. Cordia is survived by her three sons, Charles (Ruth) Slone, Jr of Xenia, OH, Terry (Teresa) Slone of South Charleston, OH, Bob (Barb) Slone of Xenia, OH; two daughters, Betty (OC) Brown of Jamestown, OH, and Cathy (Jerry) McManamay of Springfield, OH; two brothers, Ersell Hall Springfield, OH; Garland Hall Xenia, OH; one sister Alberta Isaac of Springfield, OH. Cordia was also survived by 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Besides her parents, Cordia was preceded in death by her husband Charles Slone; sisters: Alka Mae Myers, Louise Collins, Lear Hall, Millie Hall, Marie Dutton, Lily Mae Johnson; brother: Russel Hall and her grandson, Christopher Slone.
While on this earth, Cordia's final days were filled with health concerns, but no matter what happened she stayed true to her faith. And as hard as it is to say goodbye to such a great woman, we can take comfort in knowing she is reunited with her loving husband in the presence of our precious Lord.
Visitation will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd. Beavercreek, OH, on Sunday February 7, 2016 from 3:00-5:00pm. The funeral service will be held at A House of Prayer Baptist Church 1220 Wallaby Dr. Beavercreek, OH on Monday 8th at 10:00am. Foster Akers and Bill Smith will be officiating. Burial will follow at the Silvercreek Cemetary in Jamestown, OH.
