Cora Rankin

Cora Albertha Beard Rankin was born December 12, 1922 in New Albany, Indiana to the union of Charles Beard and Emma Jennings. She was the youngest of ten children.

On March 8th, God called Cora home to rest after a long illness. She died at Spring Creek Nursing Home in Huber Heights, Ohio.

She was a member of the Howard Chapel Baptist Church for many years and was known as Cordy by all her friends and family. She attended Indiana Baptist Church in Jeffersonville, Indiana with her husband, J.D. Rankin.

She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. She leaves to mourn her death, one daughter, Carolyn E. Collier of Huber Heights, seven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Monday, March 16, 2009 at First Baptist Church Jefferson Garden, 3725 St. Joseph Rd., New Albany, Indiana, with Rev. Reuben Harris officiating. Interment will follow at West Haven Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Shrader Funeral Home, 1715 E. Oak, New Albany, Indiana on Sunday from 3-6 PM.
