Cora J. Mccorkle

Cora J. McCorkle, age 75 of Clayton, passed away October 15, 2017. She was born in Talladega, AL on June 25, 1942 to her late parents, Willie and Mable (Burke) Parson. In addition to her parents, Cora was preceded in death by her brothers, James Parson, Sylvester Burke and Willie Parson II; husband, Charles Scott and grandson, Corey Michael Best.

She is survived by her 3 children, Douglas Best, Anthony (Glenna) Best and Delina (Willie) Dominick; 12 grandchildren including special granddaughter, Natasha Best; 14 great-grandchildren; sisters, Diane Hall, Darlene Parson and Mary Stone; brothers, Joseph Parson, Jerome Parson and Ernest Parson; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Cora lived life to the fullest and loved her family with every breath she took. She will be dearly missed but never forgotten for all she has done.

Family will receive friends from 11 AM until 12 noon on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at Newcomer Funeral Home, North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd. where a funeral service will begin at 12 noon. Interment will follow the service at JeffersonView Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to American Heart Association or American Diabetes Association, in Cora's memory.
