Conway Burkhart

BURKHART, Conway "Shorty", age 77, of Dayton passed away Thursday, August 11, 2005. He was born December 7, 1927 Harlan, KY, the son of John and Matilda (Green) Burkhart. Shorty was a very caring and loving person who loved his family and the Lord. He was introduced to God 27 years ago and since then has helped build Eastview Church of God and the Cathedral of Praise Church of God. He enlisted in the United States Navy and served his country proudly during World War II. He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Joyce (Burton) Burkhart; two sons and daughters-in-law, Rod and Kelly Burton of Chicago, J.R. and Loretta Howard of Dayton; two grandchildren, Josh and Paige Burton; one brother, Lonnie Burkhart of Harlan, KY; He was preceded in death by both parents; 2 sisters and 3 brothers. Visitation will be held Sunday, August 14, 2005 from 4-8 p.m. at Cathedral of Praise Church of God (4544 Old Troy Pike) where Herb Oney is the Pastor. Funeral services will be held Monday, August 15, 2005 at 12:00 p.m. (noon) with Bishop Dorsie C. Fyffe, Pastor Herb Oney, and evangelists Richard and Etta Hensley officiating.
