Constance "Connie" Heil, a beloved member of the Dayton community, passed away peacefully at home on August 18, 2024, at the age of 82. Born on May 18, 1942, in Dayton, Ohio, she was the cherished daughter of James and Pauline Ford, who preceded her in death. Connie's journey through life was marked by her unwavering dedication to her family and her passion for collecting toys and dolls, bringing joy and wonder to her days.
Connie's professional career saw her contributing her talents to the Dayton Daily News, Meijers, and Kohls. Her work ethic and commitment to excellence were evident in all that she undertook. Yet, her richest life experiences unfolded in the warmth of her family bonds and her love for her grandsons, Jake and Dylan Walters, who were her pride and joy. They were not merely her grandsons; they were the very essence of her happiness, and she relished every moment spent with them.
In addition to her grandsons, Connie is survived by her beloved brother, Gary Ford (Theresa), son-in-law, Gary Walters; son, Todd Heil and his family and brother-in-law, Richard Galentine. Connie took pride in extending that warmth to her many nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends. Her steadfast love enveloped those around her, providing comfort and encouragement throughout their journeys.
Connie's heart, however, bore the weight of some profound losses, including that of her husband, Norb Heil, daughter Paula Walters, and her sister, Judy Galentine. These loved ones will always remain an integral part of her story, shaping the vibrant and loving individual she was.
As we remember Connie, we celebrate a life filled with laughter, fond memories, and an unwavering love for those she held dear.
