Constance L. Dias

Constance L. "Connie" Dias, age 82 of Dayton, passed away Monday, November 29, 2021, at Hospice of Dayton. She was born December 31, 1938 in Dayton, Ohio, the daughter to late Robert and Antoinette Layman. She was also preceded in death by her husband Jim Dias; brothers George Layman and Bobby Layman; stepsons JD Dias and David Dias.

Constance is survived by her stepdaughter Lynn Sammons; Nephew, Samuel (Mary) Leathley; She is also survived by other numerous family and friends.

Connie was a wonderful, generous and caring person. She loved her husband Jim with all her heart. They had 25 wonderful years together. She put her heart and soul into taking care of Jim during his 10 years of illness. Connie was a talented pianist, teaching at the University of Dayton for over 30 years. She was very generous and supported many charities, especially those concerning children and animals. Connie was always ready to help any family member in need.

After Jim's passing, Sam and Mary enjoyed their Tuesday night dinners with Connie. She was a joy to take care of, always so grateful, even in her last weeks of life. She would always ask "How are you doing?" every time someone would call. During her last hospital stay, she thanked Sam and Mary for staying with her. She is now at peace in Heaven with her Jim.

Family would like to offer a special thank you to the caregivers at Brookdale Kettering, Hospice of Dayton, and especially Emily at Hospice of Brookdale.

Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, December 6th, 2021, at 12 noon at St. Albert the Great; 3033 Far Hills in Dayton. Visitation to take place from 10:30 AM until the time of service at 12 PM. Connie will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery.
