Connie Leon Henderson was born on September 13, 1947 to the proud parents of James and Isabel Henderson.
He attended Hooper City High School in Birmingham, AL and had two years of college at Lawson State Community College and Jefferson State Community College. Leon's religious affiliation was with The Eleventh Avenue Church of God in Christ under his father's leadership. He later moved to Dayton, OH and joined Greenview Calvary Tabernacle. He received an honorable discharge after serving during the Vietnam War from the U.S. Army.
Leon met Novella in 1971 and was married October 31, 1975. From a previous marriage he leaves to cherish his eldest daughter, Vickie C. Baxter (Maymon). With his wife, Novella he leaves four devoted children, Daryl Leon Henderson (Desiree), Dwayne Lee Henderson (Kristen), Connie Lynn Henderson (Matt) and Ashley Lecole Henderson. He leaves to cherish his greatest accomplishments, his grandchildren: Brittney, Christopher, MaKayla, Noelle, Amelia and Harper Shea. He was preceded in death by his father, Elder James H. Henderson. He also leaves behind loving and devoted mother, Isabel Henderson; sisters, Mandy McConnico (James), Eula Williams (Calvin), Brenda Cunningham (Joseph); brothers, Elder Walter J. Henderson and Joseph A. Henderson (Debra); he leaves in his memory a host of relatives and friends with a special sister-in-law, Wanda Hearn Henderson, a special great-nephew, Carnell Lee, and a special great-niece, Chaynell Lee.
