Collins R. Allred
Age 78, of Bethel Township, went home to be with the Lord, Monday, March 19, 2007, at Kettering Memorial Hospital after an extended illness. He was born in Jamestown, Tennessee.

Collins was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, JoAnn (Hardman) Allred in 2002, and by his son, Rick R. Allred in 1991.

He is survived by one daughter, Patricia "Patsy" Allred-Copeland & her husband, Tim Copeland; daughter-in-law, Tina Allred; five grandchildren, Jamie Justice, Brad Justice, Melissa Allred & her fiancé Jeremy King, Matthew Allred and Angela Allred; one great granddaughter, Natalie King; one brother, Woodrow & his wife, Lillian Allred; and by one sister, Reecie & her husband, Warren Toops.

Collins was a member of Northridge Freewill Baptist Church. He was a superintendent and Deacon with the Baptist Church of Moraine. He retired from the Delco division of GM in 1985 with 35 years of service. He and his son, Rick, were the owners/operators of C & R Gardens of Tipp City. He also raised and bred Angus Cattle and was a member of the Miami County Cattlemen's Association and also very active with the Miami County Fair for many years. Collins, a veteran of the United States Army, was a member of the Masonic Lodge, the Scottish Rite, Valley of Dayton, and formerly a volunteer fire-fighter and medic with the City of Moraine.

The family will be receiving friends from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m., Sunday, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, at Northridge Freewill Baptist Church, Payne Avenue, Dayton with Pastor Tim Hamilton officiating. Interment will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery, Tipp City.

If friends desire, contributions may be made in memory of Collins and his late wife, JoAnn, to the Northridge Freewill Baptist Church.
