Collie Holton, Jr.

June 3, 1939 — February 19, 2014

Collie Holton, Jr. age 74, of Beavercreek, passed away on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at Hospice of Dayton.

He was born in Logan County, West Virginia to the late Collie & Pauline (Holston) Holton.

Collie is preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Larry Holton.

Collie served honorably in the United States Army, and later worked as a Supervisor of Highway construction. His talents took him to far parts of the world, constructing roads in Lybia, Monrovia and other parts of Africa. Collie loved the outdoors, camping and fishing with friends and family. He loved and cared for those around him. He was a member of Maple Heights Baptist Church and worked on several projects through-out the church. He cared for, adored and spoiled his wife, Jewel.

Collie is survived by his loving wife of 13 years, Jewel (Bowen-Smith) Holton, his son Richard (& wife Jana) Diegelman of Amarillo,Texas, his daughter, Karen (& husband Joe) Roszak of Miami, Florida, step-sons: Mark Edward (& wife Kelly) Smith of Cincinnati, Ohio and Charles Joseph Smith of Huber Heights, Ohio, grandchildren: Melissa (& husband Adam) Beseda of Waco,Texas, Riana Diegelman of Amarillo, Texas, Ryan Diegelman, of Amarillo, Texas, Gary Lantrip, Rick Keesler, Brandon Guisinger, step grand-children,Lauren Smith of Medway, Ohio, Steven Smith of Huber Heights, Ohio, Danielle Smith of Columbus, Ohio, Casey Smith of Medway, Ohio, Matt Birdsall of Athens, Ohio, Allison Gerhard and Anna Gerhard of Ross Township, Ohio, and 1 great-granddaughter, Charleigh Beseda. Collie is also survived by his brothers and sisters: Norman (& wife Jamie) Holton of New Mexico, Jerry (& wife Anne) Holton of Newark, Ohio, Jean Cook of Columbus, Ohio, Gayle (& husband David) Starkey of DeFuniak Springs, Florida, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Special thanks to Sonny & Helen Bowen, and also Anna MacDonald for their unending support.

A Visitation will be held 9- 11AM, Sunday, February 23, 2014 at Maple Heights Baptist Church, 144 W. Funderburg Road, Fairborn, Ohio 45324. A Funeral Service will be held directly following at 11 AM. Pastor Chris Tannreuther officiating.

Interment will be held at a later date, at the convenience of the family. If desired, memorial contributions may be directed to Hospice of Dayton.
