Clyde H. Brown age 72 of Dayton Ohio departed this life on 11 Jun 2014 at Miami Valley Hospital. He preceded in death by his parents, Horace and Ruby Brown; sisters, Pearlie Jordon and Mary McDonald; brothers, Clarence (George)Brown and Jesse Brown.
Clyde leaves to mourn his wife of 50 years, Joyce M. Brown; son, Dwayne E. (Barbara) Brown; sisters, Ruby Brown and Lula Mae (Stanley) McLemore; special niece Betty (JW) Carter; grandchildren, Andrea Brown, Courtney Brown, Michaela Brown, Manuela Brown, and great granddaughter, Aliayah Sweeney; sisters-in law, Joann Brown, Melvenia Barnes, Clarece Phoenix, Bernice Johnson, Lela Fairley and Daisy Officer; brothers-in law, Charles (Gwendolyn) Gilner and John Gilner; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends who touched his life, especially his riding partner, Sean Griggs.
Clyde was a graduate of 33rd Ave High School, Gulfport Ms. and earned a Bachelor degree of Human Ecology from the University of Dayton. He was a proud member of the United States Air Force and retired in England after 26 years. He traveled extensively throughout Turkey, Germany, Greece, France, and Amstradam, during his 12 years in Europe. Clyde attended Chapel 3 Wright-Patterson AFB OH
Clyde was a 33rd Degree Mason where he held many positions in the Blue and Red House. Clyde was a life member and Chaplain of the Veterans of Foreign War Post 3283 and a member of the Military Order of the Cooties of the United States Pup Tent 83 (MOC), Huber Heights OH. He demonstrated giving back to the community through his monthly volunteering at the VA Home and the VA hospital in Dayton.
Clyde was employed at Auto Zone as a commercial drive, where he made many friends at the auto repair shops he delivered parts to throughout the area.
His final position as a Logistic Clerk for the contractor, WSI-WSA ALL STAR at Wright-Patterson AFB OH was one of the best jobs because of the people he worked with. His favorite saying as he walked through the door each morning was " Is every body happy". If you said "NO" he could give you numerous reasons why you should be happy.
Memorial services will take place at Chapel 3, Wright-Patterson AFB OH on Thursday, 19 June 2014 from 5:00 -7:00 pm. Family and friends may gather at 5:00pm until the time of the Service at 6:00pm.
