Clyde Charles Jones

Clyde Charles, age 89, of Dayton, passed away Sunday, October 28, 2012 at the Dayton VA Medical Center.

He was born January 4, 1923 in Careyville, Tennessee, the son of the late William A. and Anna Mae (Roddy) Jones. Clyde was raised and educated in West Carrollton, served in the U. S. Marine Corp in WWII, and retired from Frigidaire in Moraine. He also enjoyed gardening, playing tennis, golfing, and bicycling.

Preceded in death by daughter Janet and granddaughter Denise.

His survivors include daughters Judi Metzger and husband Doug of Springboro, Jackie Ewing and husband Joe of Centerville, Mary Ellen Moorman and husband Dave of Woolwich Township, New Jersey, and Candy and husband Rick of Hillsboro, seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Friday, November 2, 2012 from 10-11am at Newcomer Funeral Home South Chapel (3940 Kettering Blvd, Kettering, OH 45439). The service will follow at 11am. Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in West Carrollton.

Donations in Clyde's memory may be made to the Parkinson's Disease Foundation.
