Downs, Clinton L., age 98, of Xenia, passed away Tuesday afternoon, June 25, 2013 at Greene Memorial Hospital.
He was born October 6, 1914 in Dayton, Ohio, the son of Clinton F. and Mary Downs.
He resided at Hospitality Home East for the past 7 years.
He was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters.
Clinton is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Irene, and four sons: Stephen, Philip, Mark and Daniel. He is also survived by six grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
Clinton retired from Gayston Corporation in Springboro, where he was employed as a machinist/draftsman. He enjoyed working with his hands which included metal working projects. He was a Sergeant in the Army Air Corps and served his country during WWII, from 1942 through 1945. Clinton was a longtime member of Xenia Nazarene Church and was a dedicated husband and father.
