Clifford Wheeler

Clifford C. (Jim) Wheeler, of Dayton, Ohio passed away Saturday, April 16, 2011 after a short fight with cancer. Jim was born Oct. 1, 1926 in Holgate, OH. After the death of his mother, Jim was raised with his brothers and sister at the OSSO home in Xenia, OH. A U.S. Navy veteran of WWII, Jim retired from Dayton Press (McCalls). Proud of his Native American heritage, Jim loved nature, watching the birds and animals in his back yard, and raising his dogs. He was preceded in death by his parents, 7 brothers and a sister. Jim is survived by his wife of 65 years, Doris M. Wheeler; sons, James R. (Diane) and Ronald L. (Cynthia); 5 grandchildren, Michelle Taylor (Terry), Kimberly Gregorace (Tony), Coledo Maines (Elliott), Andrew Wheeler (Amy), and Lauren Wheeler; 7 great and 4 great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Tuesday April 19, 2011 from 10am-11am with funeral service starting at 11am at Newcomer Funeral Home (South Chapel), 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering, OH.
