Clifford Smith Jr.
Clifford L. Smith, Jr. age 75, resident of Melbourne Beach, FL. died on Saturday, December 20, 2008, at Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne, FL.
Clifford was born on the family farm in Fairborn, Ohio, on April 20, 1933, the son of Clifford L. Smith, Sr. and Edna E. (Flatter) Smith.
He attended schools in Fairborn, and graduated from Fairborn High School, class of 1951. He then worked the family farm for about a year, and then was employed by Southwestern-Portland Cement Co. ( now known as Cemex Concrete)
for a span of 40+ years, being promoted to Supervisor.
He married Patricia E. Meese, and together they raised four children.
Clifford is survived by his wife of 56 years, Patricia, of Melbourne Beach, FL., son, Steven Smith of Fairborn, Ohio, Daughters, Rhonda Sherman and husband, Michael, of Beavercreek, Ohio, Kimberly Clarke and husband, Bob, of Melbourns Beach, Ohio, Tracy Stewart of Yellow Springs, Ohio.
Four grandchildren also survive, Kahlae Clarke, Zachary Clarke, Nia Stewart, and Eridon Stewart.
He was preceded his parents, and one grandson, Akin Stewart.
A Celebration of Clifford's Life will be conducted on Saturday, December 27, 2008, at 10:00am. at the chapel at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, Ohio.
A public viewing will be Friday, December 26, 2008, from 6-8pm.
Burial will be at Byron Cemetery, 3256 Trebein Rd, Fairborn, Ohio 45324.
