Clifford Leon Pennington, Sr. age 87 of Dayton, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, March 10, 2021. He was born June 16, 1933 in Newcomb, Tennessee to the late Phelon and Florence Pennington.
Along with his parents, Clifford was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Homer (Kathleen), Howard, Mary (William "Darrell"), Irene (Homer "Perk"), Roxie and Peggy.
Clifford will be missed by loving wife of 52 years, Brenda; son, Cliff (April) Pennington, Jr.; grandchildren, Jessica, Nick, Kaleb, Keith (Katlin), Kelsea (Pike), Kammy (Nate) and Karter; great grandchildren, Makenna, Adelaide, Phineas, and Remi; several nieces, nephews and their families.
Clifford was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was a member of the Northridge Freewill Baptist Church where he served in the sound room for many years. He served in the U.S. Army as a tank mechanic, mostly in Germany. Clifford retired from Chrysler in 1994. Clifford cherished all the time he spent with his family and watching the Cincinnati Reds.
Family will receive friends Tuesday, March 16, 2021 from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12 p.m. at the Northridge Free Will Baptist Church, 4800 Payne Ave., Dayton, Pastor Tim Hamilton, officiating. Burial Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Newcomer North Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Clifford's memory to the Hospice of Dayton.
