Clayton D. Raynes, age 95 of Venice, FL, formerly of Dayton, OH passed away on October 12, 2015. He was born March 16, 1920 in Columbus, OH to the late Squire and Edith (Henson) Raynes.
In addition to his parents, Clayton was preceded in death by his son, Clayton Richard Raynes; brothers: Milton, Goldie, Steve, Herb, Paul and Jim; and sisters: Eva and Jane.
He is survived by his loving wife of 73 years, Marie; son and daughter-in-law: Phillip and Christine Raynes; grandchildren: Chad (Lorrie) Raynes and Angela (Steve) Cox; and 5 great-grandchildren.
Clayton graduated from The Ohio State University and was a pharmacist and owner of Meyer's Pharmacy in Dayton for 36 years, retiring in 1989. He was a 32nd degree Mason and served our country in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII.
A memorial service will be held in Venice, FL. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, October 23, 2015 at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Wolf Creek Pike, Trotwood, Ohio. Local arrangements by Newcomer Funeral Home, 3940 Kettering Blvd.

I-75 N. Merge onto US-35 W via EXIT 52 toward OH-4 S/Eaton. Turn left onto W 3rd St/US-35 W. Turn right onto N Union Rd. Turn left onto Post Town Rd. Turn right onto N Snyder Rd. Take the 1st left onto S Wolf Creek Pike. The cemetery is on the right.
