Clayton E. Bachmann, age 77 of Middletown, passed away December 14, 2020. He was born on August 17, 1943 in Ft. Dodge, IA to the late Willie and M. Evelyn (Rankin) Bachmann.
He is survived by his son, Andy Bachmann; sisters, Myrna (Bob) Vert and Sharon (Clair) Frey; niece & nephews, Chad (Janelle) Vert, Kevin (Terri) Vert, Heather (Dave) Lacey, Braden (Felecia) Frey and Lindsay (Dan) Anders; great-nieces & nephews, Wesley, Ryan, Tayllor, Carson, Tressa, Zachary, Benjamin, Evan, Shayla, Seth, Alyssa and Kiersten; numerous cousins, extended family and dear friends.
Clayton enjoyed woodworking and doing activities outdoors. He was skilled at working on any type of motor and could fix just about anything you gave him that was broke or not working. Being so skilled led him to have a huge tool collection which was neatly organized and labelled. Clayton loved attending family get-togethers and their holiday parties. He graduated from Union College with a BS in biology, followed by a nursing degree, and then on to take anaesthesia courses in Madison TN. Clayton worked as an anaesthetist in Nashville, TN until his retirement. He moved near Middletown, Ohio to be close to family and lived there until his death.
Family will receive friends from 5-6 PM on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at Newcomer Funeral Home, Centerville Chapel (820 Miamisburg-Centerville Rd., Dayton, OH, 45459) where a funeral service will begin at 6 PM. Clayton will be laid to rest at a later date in Wood, South Dakota beside his parents.
