Claudia Tipton

Tipton, Claudia F., 73 was granted her final peace on Friday, April 18 after a three month struggle with a reoccurrence of breast cancer. Born August 12, 1940, she graduated from Troy High School in 1958, attended Bowling Green State University and Springfield City Hospital School of Nursing (graduated, 1962). She was a surgical nurse for 37 years at Stouder Memorial Hospital, Troy and Upper Valley Medical Center, Piqua. During the Vietnam War (1966-1968), Claudia served as a lieutenant in the US Air Force as a surgical nurse at a military hospital located in the Dallas/Ft. Worth, Texas area. Upon completion of her service, she bought a home and resided in Union, Ohio which she later shared with her mother, Virginia Tipton. Claudia was a lifetime member and past auxiliary president of Eagles #3621, West Milton, Ohio. Preceded in death by her father, Claude J. Tipton Jr. in 1996, Claudia is survived by her mother Virginia Tipton, her sister Shirley Fenner of West Carrollton, her sister Beverly Tipton of Sioux Falls, SD, and her brother, Claude Tipton III of Miamisburg. She will be dearly missed by her nieces and nephews (Tracy West [Jerry], Mark Fenner [Lisa], Casey Boardwine [Todd] Jared Tipton, her grand nephew Samuel Boardwine, her grand niece Kirsten Boardwine, and a multitude of friends, relitives and professional colleagues.
