Claude Jones Tipton III ('Tip'), age 70 of Miamisburg, passed away Friday, November 29, 2019 at Hospice of Dayton. He was born November 23, 1949 in Aurora, Illinois, the son of the late Claude Jones Tipton, Jr. and Virginia Tipton (Mortimer).
In addition to his parents, Tip was preceded in death by his wife, Rita (Brewer) Tipton, and his sister, Claudia Tipton.
Tip is survived by his first wife, Sally Shafor; children, Casey (Todd) Boardwine and Jared (J.R.) Tipton; grandchildren, Kirsten and Sam Boardwine; great granddaughter, Lydia; sister, Shirley Fenner; sister, Beverly Tipton; niece, Tracy (Jerry) West; nephew, Mark (Lisa) Fenner; as well as numerous extended family members and friends.
Tip grew up in Troy, Ohio and graduated from Troy High School. He was also a graduate of Ohio University, where he developed his strong passion for writing.
Services will be held privately by the family.
