Claude J. "Mackie" Butler

Claude J. "Mackie" Butler, age 77, of Fairborn, passed away on August 10, 2024. He was born in LaFollette, Tennessee, on May 20, 1947, the son of the late Reverend Claude and Evelyn Butler. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Deanda Butler.

Mackie is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Carrie Butler; children, Lisa (Scott Robinson) Newby-Neace and John Michael "Mike" (Karen Haberman) Newby; granddaughter, Taylor (Zach) Skerl; and many other loving family, friends and special neighbors. 

He retired from Beau Townsend Ford, after nearly 30 years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #764 in Fairborn, the Shriner's and the Scottish Rite for many years. In his free time, he enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson in his younger years, selling cars, working in his yard and spending time with family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held from 5:00pm-7:00pm, on Friday, August 16, 2024, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek. Graveside Services will be held privately with the family at a later date at Byron Cemetery in Fairborn.
