Clarine Fay Swayne (Hall), age 89, of Dayton, OH passed away Saturday, April 26, 2014 at Hospice of Dayton.
A native of Science Hill, KY, she was the daughter of Charles Zack and Ethel Marie Hall. Preceded in death by her parents, her husband Earl Swayne; sisters Christine Leonard and Betty Daws; brothers Raymond Hall and Edward Hall; four nephews and two nieces. Survived by stepdaughter Carolyn (Doug) Pearson and daughters Victoria and Julia of Cary, Il.; stepson Jamie (Ann) Swayne and son David of Lake Zurich, Il.; sisters Zada Stone of Dayton, Wilma Robinson of Beavercreek and Louise Browning of Nashville, TN; brother Charles Hall of Anderson, IN, numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other family members and beloved friends.
Clarine graduated with a baccalaureate degree in Psychology from Olivet Nazarene College in Illinois, and received her master's degree in Social Work from the University of Wisconsin. She worked in mental health services during her career as a psychiatric social worker in Ottawa, Illinois.
As a member of the Edgemont Church of the Nazarene in her early career, Clarine was an evangelistic singer. In later years, Clarine's greatest joy was found in studying the Bible and witnessing to others about her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m. and services at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 29th, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering, OH.
