Smith, Clarence H. "Pug", age 60 of Dayton, passed away on March 19, 2007 of a longtime illness at Miami Valley Hospital. He was born February 15, 1947 in Dayton, OH, the son of Clarence Edward & Katherine Marie Smith. He served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. He is preceded in death by his parents, and his brother David Smith. Survivors include his lifelong companion Leola "Lee" Claypool and her children, Susan, Kevin (Sue), & Leola; her grandchildren, Michelle, Kendal, & Nicholas; and her 4 great grandchildren; sister, Cindy Crites and her children, Angela, Jennifer, & Christina; brother, Craig Smith and his children, Amy, Kenny, Katie, Kane, & Brooke; brother, Ronald (Teresa) Cunningham and their son, Nolan; step-father, Ronald (Tammy) Cunningham, Sr.; and his family and friends at FedEx Freight. He was a devoted companion, brother, friend, and employee. He was the most caring and giving person to all that knew him. Services will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, March 24, 2007 at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton, OH, with Pastor Mark Masterson officiating. Burial will follow at Willow View Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday at the funeral home from 9 AM until the time of services.
