DAVIS, Clarence Ray, Sr., age 69 of Dayton, passed away peacefully October 17, 2013. Clarence was born in Hazard, KY to the late Ross and Inos Davis. In addition to his parents, Clarence was preceded in death by brother, Larry Gene Davis; and sister, Gedra Durbin.
Clarence leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 48 years, Frances Davis; children, Deborah Sammons, Clarissa Davis, Clarence Ray Davis, Jr., Audrey Davis, and Rossetta Davis; siblings, Wanda McDaniel, Shelby Ward, Billy Davis, Jacqueline Lovitt, Moses Davis, Glenna Stockhauser, and Lucky Darrell Davis; grandchildren, Meeka, Kristen, Tamara, Bobby, Casey, Tyler, Cassandra, Destiny, Courtney, Dustin, Jonathan, David, and Clifford; great-grandchildren, Maddie, Mason, Kyanne, Robert, Caden, and Nathan; and many other loving relatives and friends.
Clarence had a love for fishing, deer hunting, and playing his guitar. He enjoyed spending his free time playing horse shoes. He was also a great George Jones fan. Clarence was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend, and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
A funeral service will be held at Pentecostals of Dayton, 168 Avondale Dr., Dayton, OH 45404 on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at 10am, where a visitation will be held for 1 hour prior to the service (9-10). He will be laid to rest in Irvine, KY.
