Gene Flory

Gene Flory, a beloved member of the Dayton community, passed away on June 19, 2024, in his hometown. He was born on February 7, 1960, to the late Clarence Flory, Sr. and Freda Flory in Dayton, Ohio.  In addition to his parents, Gene was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Flory.

Gene graduated from Meadowdale High School.  He was a dedicated tile installer in the flooring industry for over 30 years and was a member of the Brick Layers Union Local #22. His craftsmanship and work ethic left a lasting impact on those he worked with.

Despite being a man of few words, Gene's presence spoke volumes. He was known for his simplicity, independence, and living life on his own terms. Gene found joy in the simple pleasures of life like playing golf, following the Cleveland Browns, exploring American History, and trying his luck at the casino. One of his greatest joys was spending time with his great-niece and great-nephews, creating cherished memories with them.

Gene will be deeply missed by his daughter Alyssa Graham (Bryan) and surviving family members including his sisters Kim Reid (Denny), Lisa Bennett (Mike), Cheryl Groves (Wes), brother Mike Flory, mother-in-law Eva Null, nieces, nephews, great-niece, great-nephews, and many other relatives and friends who were touched by his gentle spirit and kind heart.

A Memorial Service to honor Gene's life will be held at 12:00 pm on Friday, June 28, 2024 at Newcomer Funeral Home, North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton.  Contributions may be made to the funeral home to help with final expenses.  To share a memory of Gene or leave a special message for his family, please sign the online guestbook provided.

Gene Flory's passing has left a void in the hearts of all who knew him. He departed surrounded by love and memories that will continue to live on in the hearts of those he left behind.
