Hoyer, Clara M, age 94, of Kettering, OH, passed away Friday evening, Nov 16 at her home under the care of Hospice of Dayton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald E. Hoyer, son, Donald R. Hoyer and grandson, James Hoyer. Clara is survived by her daughter , Sherry (Alan) Partee of Wilberforce, OH; granddaughter Karen (Bill) Aldrich; grandsons John (Jill) Hoyer and Jerry (Donna) Hoyer; granddaughter Dawn (Ted) Yantis and grandsons Alan (Amy) Partee Jr, James Partee, Austin Partee, Andre' Partee, Ben Partee and 12 great-grandchildren. Clara and Donald had been married for 44 years at the time of his passing in 1981. She was a life-long resident of the Dayton area. She graduated from Stivers High School where she was a member of the Honor Society and the Athena Society. Clara belonged to Haynes Street Baptist Church, Emanuel Baptist Church and most recently Fairhaven Church in Centerville. She was always active in her church as a Sunday school teacher, member of the choir and in the early years as the church pianist. Clara retired from the Defense Electronics Supply Center. She was a great cook and homemaker and loved animals. She had a strong faith in God and was ready to "go home" to be with her Lord and Savior. We want to thank the staff at the Grand Court where Clara lived the last 3 years. We appreciate all that they did to make her last years so enjoyable. Friends may call at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd, Beavercreek, from 6:00-8:00, Tuesday, Nov 20. A family graveside service will be held on Wednesday.
