Clara Belle Martin, aka "Hara Clara," age 79 of Dayton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at Hospice of Dayton after her battle with cancer.
She was born August 9, 1938 in Cleveland, Ohio, the daughter of the late William and Blanche Pearl. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her former husband and dear friend, William James Martin.
Clara is survived by her children, Tamre L. Martin (Wes Lyons), Cassandra L. Lombardo (Steve Sweat); Daniel W. Martin (Dana Fueston), William J. (Sharon) Martin; grandchildren, Jessica Smith, Tony Topping, Kristi Weber, Angela (Jamie) Kirkpatrick, Trevor Sweat, Joseph Martin, Melissa Martin; great-grandchildren, Zackery and Madison Smith; Finch and Wren Kirkpatrick; brother, Richard (Carol) Pearl; as well as countless cherished friends.
Clara was a devoted fan of the Cleveland Browns, NASCAR and especially the Dayton Demonz. She loved to spend time with her family and friends playing cards, crocheting, vacationing to warm climates and you could always depend on her to be the first to arrive and the last one to leave.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2017 from 9:30 am to 11:30 am at Newcomer Funeral Home - North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton, Ohio 45424. A Celebration of Clara's Life will follow starting at 12:30 pm at American Legion Post #746 (outdoor shelter) located at 7015 N. Dixie Drive, Dayton 45414.
