LAUDERBACK, Clara, age 91, passed away Monday, November 3, 2008. She is preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, R. Donald Lauderback and brother, Harold Reed. She is survived by her daughters, Linda Lee (Mark) Martin and Sandi Clara (Bill) Hurley; sister, Madeline Jansen; grandchildren, Laura Lee Carey, Tony Martin, Denise, and Timothy Hurley; great grandchildren, Colton Thomas Carey, Maggie Jane Martin, and Austin Robertson; beloved friend, Delmer Harrison, and cherished cats, Ralph and Spooky. Clara was the founder and owner of Shiloh Marketing Research, as well as a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was active with the Dayton Historical Society and Friends of the Library. Del and Clara were longtime volunteers for the Dayton Philharmonic and Victoria Theater. Her greatest passion later in life was her commitment to the restoration and preservation of vintage clothing for the Goodwill. She organized fashion shows and spent hours repairing and restoring the collection, and was a recipient of the Volunteer of the Year Award for the Goodwill. She was a lifelong doll collector and avid gardener. She loved traveling and enjoyed involvement with the Friendship Force. Clara was a longtime member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church. Those who knew Clara appreciated her tenacity. Linda and Sandi will always appreciate her free spirit and the values she instilled in us. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 7, 2008 at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering. Family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.
