Claire Arlene Greenwald

August 12, 1937 — March 27, 2025

Claire Arlene Greenwald, born on August 12, 1937, graced this world with her vibrant spirit until her peaceful passing on March 27, 2025. A beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Arlene lived her life with relentless energy, embracing every moment with a profound love for her family and community.

For 35 years, Arlene ran a successful cleaning business alongside her dear friend Delores, demonstrating not only her strong work ethic but also her ability to build meaningful relationships. She was a perpetual mover, always busy and never idle, finding joy in the simplest tasks and activities around her.

Arlene’s heart thrived in the company of her children, Gail (Jeff) Christenson and Tom (Patti) Greenwald, who were continuously inspired by her nurturing nature and unwavering support. Her grandchildren—Ashley (Drew) Larck, Heather Christenson, Rachel (Wes) Alexander, Lauren Christenson, Matthew Christenson, and Reagan Greenwald—were the light of her life. Arlene's love expanded further with the arrival of her great-grandchildren, Hudson Larck, Oliver Larck, and Amelia Larck, who undoubtedly brought her immense joy and cherished memories.

An active member of Highland Park Baptist Church in Southfield, Michigan, Arlene found purpose and fulfillment serving the community, particularly in the nursery where she lovingly watched over the children. Her talents extended beyond her service; she enjoyed sewing and cultivating the beauty of her garden, where she found peace among the blossoms she nurtured.

Arlene was predeceased by her beloved husband, William Greenwald Jr., as well as her parents, Peter and Elizabeth Ramsay. She is also reunited with her cherished siblings: Harry Ramsay, Dorothy Ramsay, Phyllis Avis, and Winifred "Joyce" Adams. Despite the loss of her loved ones, Arlene's legacy of kindness, resilience, and love for her family will endure in their hearts.

A Memorial Service for Arlene will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, May 3, 2025 at Koinos Church, 722 Grant Street, in Troy, Ohio.

As we bid farewell to Arlene, we remember a woman who truly lived life to the fullest, whose laughter will echo in the hearts of all who knew her. Her spirit and passion for life serve as a testament to the power of love, family, and community. She will be profoundly missed but forever cherished in the memories of her family and friends.
